Ed Franklin, a young actor pursuing his Hollywood dreams, returns home for Christmas to find that his beloved grandmother has been placed in a nursing home against her will. Believing that the claims of her dementia are a lie, Ed decides to take her to Hollywood to live with him. By the time Ed learns that Granny really is ill, Ed’s father and brothers are hot on his trail, triggering Ed’s rebellion into high gear as decades of twisted family dynamics threaten to lead everyone into tragedy.
